Occasional large plumes of hot air reach the hill of Lareh’thilln, slowly ascending up the rocks and climbing over the southern walls to great those minding their business outside with an uncomfortably hot wave of air for a brief moment. Windows are blocked by a thick layer of condense and a lukewarm rain falls over the city of high-elves every once in a while...

Rumours spread like butter on warm bread through Arcas

The air around Volcano Peninsula has slowly been rising in temperature, the hot plumes

of humid steam not only reaching the High Elves but also other unfortunate villages south of the Blessed Bastion.

Wildlings are reported leaving the Eastern reaches of the Wildlands and claim it to be inhabitable.

Villagers have started to have gatherings, discussing the possible outcomes of this natural disaster.

They say if this unknown change of temperature doesn’t stop soon, the rest of Arcas could be laid to waste and turned to ashes...

Missives go out to the far reaches of Arcas, ranging from Jungle Island to Lareh’thilln. One of said missives drips with condense as it hangs in the caves of The Onyx Sanctum.

It has been nailed to a stone wall with a large bolt, for everyone to read...

    Dear reader,

I call to you for help...

As you know Krugmas is approaching and presents laid waiting under our tree.

Only a single night they were safe, as for when I woke in the morning they were gone..

The window busted, large footsteps of mud now printed upon our carpet.

As I walked outside I could see I was not the only victim, for multiple residences in our village shared the same fate.

I followed the muddy footsteps, and they seem to lead to the snowy reaches north of our village.

I am afraid to be killed and leave my children orphaned if I go after this soulless thief.

Would you be so kind as to bring back my presents?

I don’t have much mina to spare, yet I will reward you in another way, say you succeed

    Kind Regards,

    Greta

Nonsense... a-all they b-brought me this y-year was a b-bloodied nose and an empty s-satchel..” he drew a quick breath as the road near Ruswick started to get steeper ”T-this must be a r-rouse..”  he let out, struggling to mumble and climb at the same time

What does acid bring to roleplay? It is the High Elven traditional way of executing someone. It has historical value through Kalenz and Vydra, and culturally makes much more sense than a bloody killing in the square. As I argued to Flamboyant the other day, it is not INSTA-KILL. Acid is the end-station, after trial or arrest, where there is no more resistance to be had. I don't see you out there whining about human gallows. Why not? They work just the same, just aren't High Elven.

We don't execute lightly in Haelun'or. Our contribution to the story of the server is huge and important, and we recognise that. What would be an execution in all other nations is reeducation or branding in Haelun'or.

I agree, excluding the need for the blood to be high elven specifically

A small sealed letter reaches the hands of Eerika Cottonwood as she stands gazing in the green fields of Hefrumm.

The letter would have been sealed with what seems be to a green slimy and sticky goo, occasionally dripping some and hitting the ground as she read.

    Dear Eerika,

    You remember me right?

The old man you helped out last year?

Remember when you fed me ole snail those strange roots?

Well I might need your help again, I am stuck here in this really weird forest, it almost feels as if the place is haunted.

If you help me out once again I’ll be sure to feed y’all some of my soup this time, It’s already on the fire!

Just follow the ole goo trail once you hit the haunted forest and you’ll find me and Reginald.

    Kind Regards,

    Old Benny

A rather unpleasant smell, easily recognisable as that of burned fish wafts through the small village of Brandybrook.

The pungent odour slowly spreads land-inwards and finds its way through the open windows and doors belonging to Halflings unfortunate enough to have left them open.

Clothes drying outside now tainted with this same scent together with those currently outdoors with them...

If someone were to inspect where the smell originated from they would be quickly greeted by large group of dead fish stranded on the Brandybrook shores.

There would be no bite marks present, yet only a burning smell reminiscent of burned fish would make one only speculate how these unfortunate fish met their end..

  7. As of the now the current sub-races of Elf consist of: High Elf, Wood Elf, Snow Elf and Dark Elf. In origin none of these subraces would be native to the lands of Korvassa or other desert-like areas. However that doesn’t mean that it would be impossible for any of these sub-races to be able to survive in the desert.  Use some common sense to figure out if it would be possible for your character to have lived through the harsh conditions of the desert, so something like roleplaying a child would be quite far-fetched.

Above all it is really great to see a new player already this interested in lore and determined to have his first character be written in a lore-friendly manner.

I would suggest looking through our wiki and/or forums if you need information. If you feel like having some more uncertainty feel free to contact me on here on or on Discord: Vermy#2334

(This is the wiki-thread on Elf sub-races in particular: https://wikia.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Elves)

  8. Don’t you think having 11 annual drinking gatherings is a bit much over the span of a few months, and don’t you feel like a varied scheme of events could draw more roleplay to Brandybrook?

Missives are spread around Arcas, nailed to boards, pillars and scattered on the ground in alleys. The missives seemed to be handwritten, possibly quite hard to read for some.
