Winyárië’s family had historically owned taverns or inns throughout the territories of Laureh’lin. They were a peaceful people but, like many others, fell victim to the effects of rebellion. Her father joined the war, leaving her, her mother, and her young brother to seek refuge from the dangers of the rising tensions. For several years they lived modestly in the shadows of shifting tides. During a horrible storm, the young woman fell victim to the proximity of an arcanic explosion and, as a result, lost her hearing nearly completely over time. She is still able to speak, thanks to decades of muscle memory in her own language, however. Finally, the Dominion of Malin regained its stability and they were able to emerge into the new state of Irrinor. She was just a child then, but has since matured and, though Winy vowed to always be available to support her family since the passing of her father in the war, the calling of adventure captured her curious heart. As the daughter of an innkeeper she had seen such diverse beings and the stories that accompanied them. Still, they were all just fantasy. She left her home to explore and learn and see all that she could.
Winyárië (Winy) is a charming and curious elven woman. Though her roots still tie her strongly to her homeland and the path of Malin, she is determined to carve her own way through the world and does not let her disability deter her. While she journeys she takes on small jobs in shops, farms, and wherever she might lend a helping hand, accumulating friendships and skills along the way. No, she isn’t going anywhere in particular, but her eyes are set on the horizon at all times. At the moment she doesn’t believe she will ever settle back down, but who knows what can happen in a couple hundred years. Her life has just begun.
