Birthday: August 17th Job Intuition: Mercenary/Adventurer Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Brown Physique: Average Height: 6’0 Outfit/Apparel/Gear: Yavi wears a closed iron helm over his head. On the other hand, he is a calm and gentle person and will do what he can for others if needed but expects something in return most of the time. He is loyal and protective for the ones he trusts or calls friends, willing to push far beyond his own capabilities and limitations of a man to help deal with their problems. Strengths: Swordsmanship, Archery, and Acrobatics. Weaknesses: Archery and Magic(All four) Relationships: Races(Neutral), Wilfreid(Close friend)(Cottermcg, determined by the likeliness of him joining. If not, I have different plans for “Wilfreid”.) Likes: Fishing, Scenery, Nature, and Combat. Dislikes: Overconfidence, dark beings, serpents and excessive bloodshed. Backstory: Yavi was born far north of Haense, his parents were a ‘unique’ couple. His father Kieshi, a retired warrior that would sometimes train with son getting in practice wielding a sword. His mother, Ayla was scholar that had studied in alchemy at an academy. Although his parents were not of the norm, they chose a quiet life as plain farmers, working on the patch of land they were given and Yavi at the age of 14 would often get the chance to travel with his father that sent goods to the city. Enthralled about becoming a knight one day for the Kingdom of Haense, he would ask his father for permission and wisdom if he could do it. In return, Kieshi supported his son’s choice before patting him on the head with a gleeful smile. After that day, they would train together more often and Yavi’s growth became evermore apparent as four years went by. In that time, his father began to worry for his own son’s safety. A fateful day, the retired warrior would be needed for a job requiring his skills and experience. Kieshi could not refuse it, forced to leave behind Ayla and Yavi that would wait for his return faithfully. As time passed, one of the men employing Kieshi would return, answering that he had disappeared and would not be sure if he would return. Ayla explodes in tears from the information fearing the worst, dropping to her knees as Yavi stood clenching his hand in anger. He did not believe the man’s words one bit. More time passed as Ayla grew sick from the plague of Zitoun’s Revenge. Unaffected by the sickness, Yavi was forced to watch his mother die in his hands with his mental strength beginning to weigh heavier. Remembering the words of his father disappearing, Yavi would leave his home and travel to find his father to tell him. Taking the extra sword and wearing his father’s gabeson. On his journey, he would run into many threats that would cause more roadblocks to his quest but evermore, he would persevere, finding clues and kindness of others helping him. On one day, he would finally track his father, being last seen heading into a cavern leading to ruins of an old ruin lost in the underground. Entering the caverns with caution, he searched for clues his father may have left behind. Yavi drew closer to completing his quest however while following a clue, a sudden howl causes him to freeze in place. Turning himself around slowly, he would be approached by a beastly shade summoned by dark magic, larger than himself and nothing he had ever seen in light. The piercing gaze of it petrified Yavi that began to tremble in fear however snaps out of it, throwing his torch at it before sprinting away as it was distracted. Escaping the shade, he could not find his way through the darkness, barely able to see what was in front of him as he could only follow the touch of the wall. While moving, Yavi suddenly falls into a hole, tumbling his way downwards crashing on top of something. Feeling around, he finds a lantern, reluctantly still functional and lights it’s flame to be greeted by corpses of people around him. Few were still rotting away as some were already skeletons. He does catch notice of one corpse, sitting away from the pile of corpses around him. Approaching the body with the lantern, Yavi turns it’s head and removes the helmet worn to find Kieshi having been dead for the time he had been waiting. Shocked, he finally gives into his grief. Crying out, alerting the beastly shade that moved toward the cry of sorrow. As Yavi’s tears fell, he knows that he needed to escape out of the cavern. Knowing it would be something his father would want although he was dead in front of him. Taking his father’s sword, he would start running, holding the lantern in front of him guiding the way. While running, the shade would find Yavi. He takes paths that lead to corridors of mazes, jumping over holes, and crossing narrow bridges to evade the shade before finally reaching the entrance. Before feeling safety, the Shade had managed to get in front of him. His only way out blocked, he is forced to fight. Charging forward roaring with a mix of anger and sadness, his sword clashes with the claws of the shade screeching mildly at him. Yavi’s struggle to escape was futile for his father’s sword would shatter into pieces and the other sword he carried would be thrown back into the cavern. Unarmed, he closes his eyes waiting for his life to be killed however fate seemed to have a different plan for him. A battle cry of a stranger roared in the cavern with Yavi opening his eyes to see a person leaping onto the shade, stabbing into it’s back as it screeched. “Run boy!” shouts the stranger. Yavi gets up running pass the scuffle of the two, getting out of the cavern. Catching his breathe, Yavi turns around hoping the stranger was alright and he was, walking out with scratch marks over themselves. They gave a hearty laugh and an answer. “Not to worry lad, that thing won’t be able to survive with it’s wounds i’ve dealt.” Yavi cracks a sad smile before falling forward in exhaustion. He awakens the next day in the cloud temple unsure how he got there. Looking around, he sees the stranger that had saved him sleeping on a chair although wakes up hearing him rustle the sheet and blanket. “Awake kiddo? You gave me quite the scare, had to carry you to the nearest city to be sent here.” he says before mentioning his name. “The name’s Wilfreid.” “Yavi..” Yavi replies gripping the blanket as he approached. “Must’ve found something you didn’t want huh.” Wilfreid notes. “I don’t know what you found-” “I found the corpse of my father.” Yavi answers shocking Wilfreid. “I apologize, I didn’t mean it like that.” he apologized not knowing. “When I first saw you at the inn when you were talking to that innkeeper, I didn’t expect you to have gone this far just looking for him.” “I had.. something to tell him. I had to tell him my mother died to the plague.” Yavi told him with tears starting to fall. A slap cracks across Yavi’s face making him look up at Wilfreid holding a casual expression to him. “Men don’t cry kid but you should realize this at least. Although your family is gone now, you’re still alive and walking strong. They would rather want that than you dying down there in the cavern with that ‘thing’ feasting on you. You control your life, the courage and tenacity I saw on you is strong and it’s kept you going for this long. You think it’d be best to give that up now and let yourself fall into grief? Your parents seemed like good people who believed in their son! Don’t let it die and like hell if that’s gonna happen!” Wilfreid lectured him. “You’ll find a new path to make for yourself Yavi. Believe it.” “Where would I start..?” Yavi asks wiping away his tears. “Hmm..” Wilfreid thought before answering. “How about working as a sellsword for the time being? You seem capable enough wielding a blade and we might even work together if we run into each other again. For now though, come with me and i’ll show you the ropes of doing it.” The suggestion carved itself into Yavi, accepting the proposition with his life starting anew. From there on out, Yavi learned and grew. Experiencing horrors of battle, sorrow and grief of others losing loved ones, and reminders of his weaknesses. That was not all bad though however, Wilfreid by his side kept him faithful and on the side of light, still believing in himself as his parents always did for him. Short Tale of Yavi talking about his life. ”A tale? I don’t have much to offer.” “My life? It will not be pleasant thing to hear although you continue to badger. I suppose it’ll do.” “I was just a kid when I first started holding a sword at the age of 13. My father always allowed me to train with him, sometimes sparring but he always went easy on me. Haha.” “Days often went by and at that time, I felt like becoming a knight for the kingdom of Haense.” “Did I achieve it? No. I didn’t. Took up the mantle of being a sellsword instead, suggested by a friend who saved my life. He’s probably traveling around somewhere far and I may run into him again.” “My parents? They passed away, that’s the only thing I could say. My mother, died to disease. My father, god’s know what may have happened however he seemed to have died in a peaceful way down in the cavern with a dagger in his chest.” “For now, that’s the tale of my life. Short and simple.” “Too short? What did you expect? A story of a hero being born?”
