  1. The Renatian Mountain Hound Description: The Renatian Mountain Hound is a breed of dog that are native to the regions near Angren and Dragons Peak, initially been found in the wild of Renatus they were discovered by adventurers and travelers alike, the breed itself never attacked descendant races unless they were to close or attempted to attack them. They are usually found in the more hilly regions of Renatus and Oren but can be found in the lowlands as well. Some of the dog breeders of Renatus took it upon themselves to capture and domesticate the breed, after much trial and error they were domesticated and a domesticated breed has begun to flourish in Renatus. They are very large and proud creatures, having powerful front and back legs being very muscular with with large paws at the end they are an apex predator of the wild and in domestication a war dog to be reckoned with. Having a diet of meat they are a predator in the wilds, preying upon deer, boar and various birds such as pheasants, geese and ducks. Being fast they can chase down most prey in the North thanks to its physical advantages. On average they stand at around four feet tall, although some will grow a few inches taller or smaller depending on the breeding in the wild or domesticated breeds. They are highly intelligent animals, once in the domesticated stage they take it upon themselves to learn phrases that their masters teach them, some of the hounds getting to the point where they can fully understand the common tongue. Often the domesticated hounds will respond to speech with growls, whines, barks and several other indications to show their masters that they understand them. The hounds themselves are social creatures, if they are not hunting in the wild they can interact with each other in a friendly manner being playful. This is true for the domesticated breeds also, being friendly around descendant races so long as they have been raised or gained the trust of them. Domestication and taming: If one is daring enough, these animals can be captured in the wild and be brought back to a settlement to begin the process of taming, although it will take a while to attain their trust and the slightest act of dishonesty will spoil the whole process. However some have been bred in Captivity and are more partial to humans and other descendants. A hound will only have one master however which they themselves choose, the process will involve an individual going to a litter of pups and if a pup walks up to the individual they have been imprinted, meaning that he is now the hounds lifelong companion. However there is a drawback to the imprinting process, if its master dies it is very unlikely it will get over the death and will fall into depression, although in some cases it may be possible for a dog to be imprinted for a second time. For purposes of battle these hounds are trained to distinguish friend from foe, it is assumed they are not colour blind as they manage to use colour distinction and they are able to tell a friendly sigil from an enemies. However further methods are applied, the use of smell being the most prominent, before a battle particular smells are used to cover a friendly army in order for the hounds to properly distinguish them and then the hounds are also covered in the smell to tell them that they are the same. Lifespan: Unlike other dogs the Renatian Mountain hound has a curiously long lifespan, being able to live up to forty years regardless of gender. How they operate in Mechanics: Quite simple really, the minecraft wolf mechanic is simple enough for this to be pulled off, the rest is in how the person RP’s it. This lore gives no benefit or weakness its just a cool way of explaining how mechanic wolves can be war hounds (As wolves aren't creatures that can really be tamed if you wanted to be realistic about the RP.)
