It was not long after he was born that both his father, Averander, and mother, Ceto, departed for the realm known as Asulon with his siblings. In their leave, he was left to a family friend by his father whose name was simply 'Heinrik'. This man was a chieftain of one of the northern clans which the Aveere family originated, leaving young Markus in good hands. Heinrik raised the young Markus to become a soldier and leader on the battlefield, teaching him how the clan politics worked and how to assert his place as the leader once he had passed on. It would not be but fifteen years before Heinrik passed, leaving the men within the massive clan to enter the sparring arena to fight to the death for control of the clan. Markus, only sixteen, went on to defeat men twice his age and strength through the talents taught to him by his adopted father, leading him to retain control of the clan and lead, should he choose. In this case, though, he did not. His interest in his family lead him to depart the clan, leaving the title of Chieftain behind for others to squabble over. This would lead him to wandering until the age of twenty where he would arrive on the continent of Vailor. Markus was unsure of what to think, upon his arrival only seeing death and destruction. Humans were fighting Humans while the other races squabbled over what little it is they could control, being meaningless to the expansive Orenian Empire. The self entitled 'Knight of Brolimund' would become a title he had used to introduce himself to many upon his arrival to Felsen, though it seemed it would matter little in this big world of politics. Shortly following, Markus met a man by the name of Gloop who he ended up employing under as a Branch Manager, smith, contractor, and mercenary leader of a sect of the Northern Orenian Company.
