Born in the ancient city of Kurai-Kuni, Yūrei lived an ordinary life working as a courier for the empire, delivering messages and supplies between villages. Though she came from a humble family, she dreamed of becoming something greater than herself.
Every night after work, she secretly trained in swordsmanship, agility, and stealth, determined to master the ways of the ninja despite having no noble status or famous lineage. Through hard work and perseverance, she slowly earned recognition for completing dangerous missions that others refused.
As threats to the empire grew, Yūrei rose through the ranks, taking on increasingly difficult assignments and proving herself time and time again. Her ultimate goal is to become the empire's greatest ninja hero—a protector of the people whose name will be remembered throughout history.
Though she is still only at the beginning of her journey, Yūrei believes that true heroes are not born—they are forged through dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering determination.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

Yūrei quietly lowers herself into the chair, her eyes scanning the floating candles before settling on the old woman. She places a hand on the hilt of her katana and offers a respectful nod.
"My name is Yūrei, and I come from the ancient city of Kurai-Kuni," she says calmly. "I'm no one important yet—just a courier and a worker trying to make her way in the empire."
She adjusts the strap of her satchel and leans forward slightly.
A determined smile briefly crosses her face. "One day, I hope to become the empire's greatest and a hero the people can rely on. Until then, I'll keep walking my path, no matter how difficult it becomes."
