In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Including prefixes like "attempted" or "tried" before actions against other players, to grant them the opportunity to respond and counter accordingly.

In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming breaks character immersion, as players utilize knowledge their character's would not ordinarily have; whether it be information on the wikipedia their characters simply wouldn't know realistically, or information provided through out of character text channels, these actions can undermine the immersion of other community members.

Additionally, metagaming information may grant players unfair advantages over others by making decisions based on out of character knowledge. An example of such would be: you're notified out of character (say, through DMs) that another player intends to attack you and your faction, so your character makes preparations for a battle prior to obtaining knowledge of it in character.
