In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is when you may learn something out of character which your character in roleplay would not know, and you make your character know about what you learned out of roleplay. For example, someone learns that their character was betrayed out of character by a close friend of the character, then when they log in, they roleplay as if they know all about it and as if they learned via roleplay but they just took some from out of character context and put it into their roleplay.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when you roleplay in an unfair way. When you are in a fight during roleplay and you say, the heavens open up and an army of angels come to destroy all your characters foes, that is powergaming. Or when you are instantly brilliant and magic without learning it or unbeatable with a sword. You ruin the fun for everyone, no one is invincible.

Vamir was born Arcus, in the Crown of Elvenesse. His mother and father were kind spirts, who had only two children. Vamir, who was the oldest and Feldren, who was the youngest. The brothers got along pretty well with each other, despite their differences. Feldren was social and played a lot of sports with the other kids his age. He was a more popular figure, suited to being around people all day long. However, Vamir preferred the silence and the serenity of the forests surrounding the city. He preferred to have animals as his companions than descendants. As they grew older, his brother became increasingly popular, Feldren fell in love with a beautiful woman, and got married in a secluded ceremony, surrounded by only close friends and family.

However, as the years rolled by, Vamir started to feel that hole in his heart, that longing for someone else, for someone to fill the hole in his heart and mend his soul. He wanted to feel completed. However, it was harder for him. At around 23, Vamir started to realize that he was not into woman, at all. He realized he was into the same sex as him. He struggled with this truth for a few years, trying to deny it, but it got the better of him eventually and he came around to himself and accepted himself. He started to love himself more, and realize that he doesn't need someone to go on with life, he realized that all he truly needs is within himself.

At around the age of 40, he started to hear things about a group called druids, the nature loving, aspect serving people, who worked alongside nature and help nature continue on. He started studying the history of the druids and what they were. It was just a weekly thing, whenever he had time, around once a week, he would read a bit into the history of the druids, about what they can actually do. He learned about their communion powers with nature, and the rare gift of shapeshifting that some druids were able to accomplish, being able to shapeshift into an animal. This little hobby turned into a passion quite recently, and at the age of 56, he decided to move away from the wood elven crown and seek the wisdom of the druids.
