Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Alantus observes the old woman, before turning his gaze to the cushion, you see his shoulders relax, he takes a seat and almost melts into the cushion, "This is certainly and upgrade from the muddy ground," he says with a hint of a chuckle. He turns his attention back to the old woman, "You've been expecting me you said? I didn't know I've become so popular with the old-" he catches himself,"ahem, lovely ladies of this town!". Uncomfortably rubbing the back of his neck as if soothing an injury, he quickly tries to respond to the original question, "So.. you looking for stories," He rests his hands on his knees,",unfortunately I must disappoint for my tale is not thrilling, not yet anyhow. I'm merely and traveller seeking adventure," he pauses, ",treasure wouldn't hurt either." He touches his golden mask and says, "This might be the only interesting thing about me," his voice seems to lose the glee it had before,",but all it does is hide a nasty scar I got from some raiders." Then, for but a moment, he leans in ever so slightly closer to the old woman as if wanting to say more, but quickly retracts, the unspoken words visibly weighing heavy on him as he slumps his shoulders and lowers his head, then slowly he gets up, "Well!" he says with the previously lost glee "Unfortunately I think it's time for me to go, the journey is long and I best get some rest." he takes a small, unserious, bow towards the woman before exiting the tent.
