Radgrim was born in the Freeport of Akueli to Lodgrim Bushbeard and Aretha Cornwall, two happy forest dwarves that lived in a hut a little ways off from Akueli itself. They were woodchoppers that made sure to replant whatever trees they cut down fully. Radgrim was their only child, and the couple decided they'd have no more childs after him. His first ten years were very calm; raised among the forest and mostly tended to by his mother as his father was either working or trading in the city to make them a living.
While the hills and forests around Akueli were beautiful to the young dwarf, what he really liked was the city. The way in which Akueli merchants bartered, argued and traded, and the bustling movement of the city was always something that brightened his day and made it amazing whenever his dad and mother allowed him to visit the city with them. In the city, he met a druid, and this druid would turn out to teach Radgrim a lot of things, to the point that he asked his mother and father for permission to live with the old elf, to which they allowed, knowing who the man was and understanding that it was important for young Radgrim to know the balance of life.
This old druid told many stories of apocalypse in the past that had befelled the Descendants; the Black Scourge, Iblees, undead, amongst many other things that made the young dwarf be amazed at the world. When Radgrim reached maturity and set out onto the world, he promised the old elf that he'd come back and bring him a piece of 'history' from each of the kingdoms he visited, and to this day, the dwarf holds on to that pledge, attempting his best to get his hands on to something to show the old elf whenever he returns to Akueli.
Radgrim had never been to a city so grand, and even the port looked massive in comparison to any other place he'd ever been to. The trip here, however, was a hassle, and the dwarf looked forwards to step out of the ship and go out there, to try and seek work and put himself on the sheets and ledgers as a good man. However, not more than two steps in, and he'd already been hailed by someone. Am I expected? he thought, and of course, he wasn't. The question made him shrug, and scratch his beard in thought. He spoke, then;
"Why, m'friend. Oi'm here fer some adventure, tha's fer sure. Who isn't, eh? Oi've a promise ta'keep, but fo' righ' now, wot Oi nee' is a wee lil' bit of work, and som' rest. So, if yew'll ex'use me, Oi'm gonnae foind m'self an inn t'lay me 'ead down for a wee bit!"
