Aiyani grew up in a traditional Norland home in Dunharrow, often going out to help her father hunt or fish for their meals. She enjoyed her time with her father, but quickly discovered she had a distaste for killing the creatures. Her mother taught her to write and read, and gave her a journal on her 7th birthday, where she began to forge her love of writing. It started as things that happened during her day, but quickly grew into telling stories of other's lives, or making up some of her own. As she went through her teen years, she began to drift from her parents a bit and spent more and more time out alone, asking questions and writing anything she discovered- even if said discovery was simply someone not being invited for dinner. As an only child, Aiyani's closest connection was to her parents. She had her fair share of friends, but none that really stuck around. So, after reaching her 20's, Aiyani made the decision to move to Norland's capital, Varhelm. She still keeps in contact with her family, writing letters and sharing stories of her travels and all the new people she was meeting.
My eyes travel around in awe, taking in every dot of color and light it can catch. I revel in the sounds of the busy city, being interrupted by a seemingly kind man asking what brought me here.
"... adventure, I suppose." I answer hesitantly, nervously fiddling with the threads on my bag.
The cheery man smiles, and opens his arms- inviting me further into the market. I dip around him, quickly forgetting my worries and practically skipping through the city.
