Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example:
Snibla steps into the tent, her small boots squishing on the wet floor. Her greenish-purple skin shines in the candlelight. She lowers her hood, showing messy black hair with tiny glowing stones tucked in the braids.
Snibla (with a small grin):
“My name’s Snibla. I come from Deepgrove Swamp. People there call me princess, but I’m not too fancy.”
She sits down on the cushion, folding her legs like a frog.
“I was born with strange skin and sharp eyes. . I’m good at fixing things, growing plants, making good food ”
She looks around the tent with a serious face.
“Something bad is moving through these swamps. I felt it in my dreams. So I came here to see what’s wrong.”
Snibla leans forward slightly.
“You said you were waiting for me. That means you know what’s coming. So tell me—what do I need to stop?”
