    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Meta-gaming is when one uses information in-character that has not been learned in-character, standardly to one’s own benefit. An example of such would be a character knowing the name of another character they have never met.

Andis Lichenvale was born in Atlas, outside Caras Eldar into a family of talented creators, creating both life and the means to take away life, his family has always showed the duality of living with nature. Anrane Lichenvale, Andis’ mother, was the blacksmith of the family, having taught Andis most of his current skills, and urged him to move out of his comfort zone when attempting more complicated designs. She is the backbone of his competence in his ability to forge weapons and armor, and he holds her in very high regard, and is known to write a letter about his day to her almost daily. Anrane is a rather tall woman for her race, standing at about 5’7”, Andis inherited her height and blonde hair color.

 

Andis outlived his father during a particular famine when year, when their crops did not grow as lively as they normally would. Maenor Greenrun, his father, had taught Andis most of his skills in farming, though Andis only grew particularly good at sowing and harvesting two crops, which would be wheat and potatoes. Andis carries this burden on his shoulder heavily, as he felt he could not help with his fathers needs when working on the farmland they owned.

Physical Description: Andis stands at about 5’7". He is rather skinny, with a muscular undertone. He has tan skin with obvious burn scarring across his forearms and hands.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
