Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I come reclaim my family's birthright" Altes said firmly sitting but not letting his guard slip ready to strike the hag down in a moment.
"My family has stories of ruling nearly the whole world in an ancient past I'm looking for the proof I need to revive the empire."
Altes starred awaiting a response moving a hand to the sword on his hip as the hag turned to grab an item out of sight.
His uncovered eye narrowed to see what the hag was doing in the dark.
"My entire clan died poor clinging to these stories of a grand kingdom that united all the peoples of this land and held peaceful control amidst the wealthy lands no one was fighting or poor then."
"Then one day a calamity took it all away and its now erased from history, now I want to rebuild the kingdom that was once lost to make good on the promise I made at the graves of my clan."
Altes lowered his head in sorrow
"So along my trek for any proof to convince people of my heritage to raise an army to take back what I believe is mine."
Altes raised his head fires of ambition gleamed in his eyes
"I heard along my journey you have such a relic a reminder of the forgotten past."
"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
