In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagamers are those who shall not be named. It's an obscene act by competitive gamers to gain information outside of the realm to gain an advantage over the true roleplayers. I'm here to unsheath the blade and punish all those who chose to travel in this
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is moving the bishop two spaces to the left for a clean checkmate. The other person should be able too defend themselves under reasonable circumstances. Power gaming doesn't allow them to do that.

Who am I you ask? What have I done?

hmph.

Building structure, security, agriculture; no one around here can touch me on that. But does anyone appreciate that? While you were busy grazing the fields, I was busy slaying every invading scum that lays a foot on my sheets of ice. I was one step from saving my parents from Johnathan Mills, the head of the snake. I prevent mudslides, I monitor for invasions, emergency squadron deployments, and faulty architecture. The west road - heard of it? - transfers a half ton of gold every hour; do you have any idea how that happens? All those peaceful evenings with the family - every dipshit who shits his pants if he can’t get his sword in under 12 seconds while Johnathan fucks his wife. It’s not magic, it’s talent and sweat. People like me ensuring that your kids grow up with a leg.

So what do I do? I make sure that one badly placed brick doesn't take the one you love the most from you. That’s what the **** I do.

Ellie is a security mastermind, covering every single inch of her territory. Sadly, her skills don't come from nothing. In an attempt to overtake her town, both of Ellie's parents were slaughtered by Johnathan Mills. When she discovered the bodies in their once humble abode, Ellie stood atop the the highest building of Acael while wearing the carcass of her mother and cried, "JOHNATHAN MILLS, I'M COMING FOR YOUUUUU!"

Of the many people watching, the High Chancellor was especially shocked to see this obscenity, and as a result, Ellie was inverse banished (banished but instead of leaving, you can't leave). Knowing that Johnathan is a peaceful farmer with a family and seeing no direct evidence from Ellie, some think that Ellie murdered her own parents. Considering the punishments regarding prejudice, this is considered a chance; chul o’tilru - a chance to serve. For Ellie, this is nothing more than a chance to strike vengeance.

What the race doesn't know is that Ellie's blade is sharp, and one dark night, she'll come for John's family and wear their carcass like she wore her mother's.

Character Name: Ellie Darora

Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 20
Physical Description: Ellie is a short, young, light-skinned girl with blue eyes. You can slightly tell that her personality is deceiving from those pigtails.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

((How does your character respond? Please ensure your response is at least six sentences long, and uses at least two actions.))

Example: (delete this when you add your own)

"Oh, I just, uh…" The traveler stutters, tensing up. They eye the crone, then back outside the shack. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…

Welcome to Lord of the Craft, my friend! Your application was a rather fun read, I'm not going to lie to you. While the vast majority of it was almost perfect, there are a few things I'm going to need you to edit up for me, in order to get you accepted and roleplaying in our little corner of the world, here. They are as follows:

  • Your metagaming definition is quite comical, and fits the definition, in your own wording of course. However, your powergaming definition really doesn't define what it is to powergame. As such, I'll need you to fix that up for me.
  • Your backstory was a really good read. However, you cannot include "human royalty" as a means of aggressors within your tale. While it is interesting, the human royalty is played by other characters and by including "human royalty" into your application, you are possibly including dozens of established players without their permission.
  • Your backstory requires at least 1-3 references to currently accepted lore on Lord of the Craft. Go ahead and edit those in for me.

You have 24 hours to make the necessary edits to your application. If you require any help, please feel free to PM me directly or @ me on the status update section or on my profile directly. Below will be some helpful links you can utilize for this application process! Good luck!
