Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"the long or the short version? well...I guess I have some time, soooo...okay. My name is Tessa Eredhel, Tess for short. I actually come from Celia'nor, but...you know how the things are there now. My parents emigrated out of there after its fall and came to Norland, where I currently reside. They were simple Farmers and the ground was kind, so they settled and raised me as a Farmhand, you know, someone who knows - and can do some real work. As things are...birds are seldom bound to their nest and so I flew away from home, without a great plan, really. Just to get ahold of the world myself. I traveled around many Towns, many Inns, never really owning much but money, that keeps me alive, warm and fed, earned from trading what I can find and could be valuable. I- I am not a thief if that is what you're thinking no no no no no. Far too soft and scared for that work and...I couldn't take from a poor sap whose probably got it worse than me. Am I talking too much? I'm talking too much. Aaaaaaanyway. This life isn't really sustainable so I went back to a Tavern I particularly enjoyed and which I visited many times again and again. The Contented Corvid. Probably had a Problem with them some time a ago and they might have gotten fat on their crop. Lucky Birds. The Food there was nice, but only that unfortunately and I wanted to do something with my life, so I decided to get working as my parents taught me some tricks to get better produce from the grain and seeds. I got a long way to go, until I am actually standing on my own two feet, but some day I'd like to supply a substantial amount of taverns in Norland with my produce if its up to standard. And Hey, better food equals happy customers equals more money, right ? So yeah. thats why I am here at this moment. Travelling around looking for good relations, seed and other things that could be useful to me."
