    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when you use any means necessary to get the best outcome for your character. Such as forcing other characters into actions the person did not choose, metagaming, or creating an over powered Mary Sue type character.

Ribin Gumwrath grew up an only child within a poor family Ves. Often times being the one forced the ask help from neighbors, in order to seem more pitiful. Despite that and the occasional complaining about having an “extra mouth to feed” Ribin’s parents weren’t all that bad. One day however Ribin had an incident which cost them their eyes. Due to their sudden blindness, their parents kicked them out. Claiming they couldn’t afford to take care of them anymore. A little after Ribin left, they heard bits and pieces about the Sacking of Ves. They spent a good portion of their life trying to survive on their own, eventually learning how to use their other senses to make up for their lack of sight. Due to growing up forced to rely on others, they made it self-rule to never ask or accept help. Their current goal in life is to head as far north as they can, in hopes of finding a nice cold place to live in solitude.

Physical Description: A 3'4 halfling with dark hair. Often seen wearing their cloak with hood up. Rarely opens eyes, eyelashes are a soft brown color.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

  • You must include at least two valid server Lore References in your character biography (other than your character’s race, family, a date or one of the server’s maps). This lore reference could be something like the name of the city your character was born in, the religion they follow or an event such as a war that your character has lived through. Please fix this using the LotC Wiki.
  • ‘Last Hope’ isn’t a place in the server lore to my knowledge (if you think I’m mistaken feel free to either message me here or through discord, I’m Aqua#5363). Unless this is a name made up by your character for another place, please remove it from your backstory.
  • Your character’s Skin does not fit LotC’s theme. While it’s fine to say that your character is covered in grey dust, it isn’t realistic that this would entirely obscure their features and as of now the skin that you’ve provided doesn’t meet the server’s standards. If you’re having trouble finding one, feel free to check out the LotC Skin Archive for use and inspiration!
