Purton Janzano was born in the city of Ves as an only child to a blacksmith father, Pom Janzano, and a mother, Rozzi Janzano, who was the daughter of a petty thief. His father always taught him the skills and trades of the day and encouraged him to roam the city and learn about the people and the world. His mother always took great care to ensure he learned to grow as a person, teaching him to be honest and loyal to his word. As he grew up in the working section of the city, Purton learned the trades from his father and an old man who assisted him. His childhood friend, Zather, learned the trades alongside him and was with him on many of his explorations of new neighborhoods. Together they climbed houses and ran about. Zather was killed in the shop one day by an angry customer, who threw a freshly stoned blade which struck his neck.
Ever since then, Purton has been friendly to strangers, both trying to gain new friendships and trying to avoid the accidents that killed Zather. He also turned to religion for guidance, seeking more wisdom through the Church of Canon.
By the time Purton reached 18, he had learned the trades of blacksmithing, armor making, and forging quite extensively. He now looks to operate his own shop, as his mother has passed away and his father lives among the frail in Ves.
“Hullo sir, I’m Purton!” Purton said, flashing a smile from ear to ear. “I’m here to find my small wealth in life! How might I get myself a shop in your city?” he asked, nodding his head at the grand bazaar and rows of buildings beyond.
