    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is an act of betraying yourself. You take information that your character would not have known, and use that foreign information to dictate your character's actions. For example, I could go onto discord and talk with my friend about the current situations, and he could tell me things that are going on on the other side of the LotC world. Because there's no possible way for my character to have known that information, acting upon that information would be metagaming.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is the act of creating a character so powerful, that there is no point in playing the game, because everything is easy, and you are far superior to other gamers. If I make a character that can always seduce anyone, or always beat someone in a fight, or always be successful. Basically, if I were to create a dwarf that was very charsimatic, powerful, intelligent, sneaky, and cunning, with no real flaws, then I would be powergaming.

"I'm just seeking friendship and adventure, sir." Sírëno gives a smile and rests on his walking stick. "I don't need much, just some excitement and a faithful companion to travel with." He engages the gentlemen in small talk, and begins to inquire about the city, including the best place to get a good nights sleep. After twenty minutes or so, the man bids Sírëno farewell and safe travels. "Goodbye, ..... sir!" Sírëno curses himself for not learning the man's name, picks up his bag, and trods off towards the tavern, where he plans to rest for the night.
