Eliza was born into poverty,in 1631, and her parents died soon after from mysterious circumstances. Her Aunt was the only living relative Eliza had, so she was burdened with the upbringing of the young spirit. The Aunt was unhappy with this decision and vowed to give her revenge to the girl. She brought her up, bound her to the house, and put harsh rules upon her life. She forced her into slavery at her hands, and was made her do everything for her. After 16 years of unhappiness, Eliza finally managed break free from her old life. She stole away under the veil of darkness, and travelled around, making friends and enemies along the way. Sometimes she struggled, but hope and courage made hr believe and push onwards. By the age of 18, she hopes to settle down in a nice home, somewhere in Marna, make lifelong friends and sustain a job at the Mother's Breast Tavern.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
