    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using information your character DOESN'T have to perform in-character actions, or using knowledge in-character that your character has no way of knowing about.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Having your character perform actions that are completely out of their abilities, mostly used in combat emoting; stopping sword-swings, running off with broken legs, etc

‘Not stopping for long’, I reply warily to the gentlemen. People like that often mean trouble.

 

I take a look around the market to assess the metalwork in the area and to see if there are any profitable avenues of work. If there are any workshops nearby, I pop in to see who’s working and what on.
