Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Beren: My story begins when I was 10 years old I used to live in a small village in the forest it was peaceful, the trees, the nature, it was all so nice and beautiful. But everything changed though when my village was attacked by bandits fire spread everywhere across the village the bandits kept breaking into people’s homes taking whatever they wanted. My parents managed to save me and get me away from the village but they couldn’t save themselves. The fires spread too fast and they couldn’t get to me and I couldn’t get to them.
”Run Beren,” my mother said with tears in her eyes, her voice shaking. “Don’t stop running till your out of here”
Fires continued to spread “But-“ tears filled in my eyes “I can’t leave you guys” tears in my eyes. “You must” my father said while flames continued to spread. “Run now!” My father said and so I did as my parents said I ran and ran far away from the village.
I was alone my parents, my family, and my home all gone “Mom… Dad… No….” I cried and cried and then fell asleep near a tree.
Beren: Next morning I woke up in a bed in another village I didn’t know where I was or what was going on and I was scared I didn’t know what to expect then a man came in and brought some water and food I wasn’t sure if I could trust them at first but then they spoke they said
“Hello there my name is Charlie you are in my home I found you out cold on a tree you seemed injured so I brought you on my horse and took you here to my village don’t worry your safe here what is your name child?”
“I’m Beren”
Beren: Charlie was so kind to me he was the closest thing I had to a father he taught me things like how to build, how to use a sword, and how to protect myself from enemies. Eight years later Charlie made me into a knight he said
“Beren you have made me so proud but now it is time to go on a new adventure”
He wanted me to go make my own path and make my own story so I packed my things and got ready to go
“Goodbye Charlie thank you for everything I miss you so much goodbye…”
Beren: I felt sad about leaving I was going to miss Charlie he gave me so much but he was right I needed to be out there, go make my own journey, and that’s my story.
