Zaan was raised as a Highlander in the capital of St. Karlsburg. She was adopted by a respected family after the death of her mother who was supposedly a Farfolk. Despite being in a respected family, Zaan was considered weak and unfit. After the death of her adopted father, she was no longer under his protection, resulting in physical and psychological abuse from the townfolk. Deciding that enough was enough, Zaan decided to leave the city and journey the land of Atlas to find not only her purpose but also herself.

She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
