How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Taking information from ooc, in character. For example, having magic-related lore you've read ooc, and having your character know of it, despite not taking the necessary steps icly to learn about it.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: During any form of combat (not including pvp,) and rping the interaction out unfairly in your favour. For example, dodging every attack, or not giving the other party an open-ended emote to react to. i.e 'He raised his blade, slicing it down over [name]'s mass, cutting into them with ease.'

After departing from the wavering boat and taking a few heeled steps toward the port, she retrieved her parasol from her hip, opening it up with a flourish. Beneath the shade of said parasol, Ophélie was mid-motion further from the, quite frankly, sickening waters when a man approached, causing her to narrowly avoid dropping her umbrella altogether out of surprise. Despite the.. quite clear disdain on her face, she straightened herself, before speaking.

"If it interests you so.. I am here for herbal-related reasons. Along with such, I am looking to browse the nearest library, for.. similar topics."

Ophélie's reluctance to further delve into her reasoning for sailing all the way to this specific port was obvious from the look-over she gave him, before she continued on her way toward the bustling marketplace; without so much as a passing glance. Apparently she was convinced this was explanation enough! Her choice of attire conflicted quite harshly with the surrounding stalls and people adorning such brightly coloured fabrics, though that didn't stop her from following the hanging signs hinting toward anywhere selling literature.
