From the age of 8, Beiren has always been fond of swordsmanship rather than hand to hand combat. However, due to the lack of wealth in his family he was unable to afford proper equipment to train with. He used long sticks he found in the forest to duel with his brother whom also was fond of the art. Once he was 20, he left home in search for opportunity, searching for jobs, any jobs. He would steal from the innocent if it got him money. Around this time he started to read books on the magic of Artificery, leaving his work as a swordsman behind, he set out to learn as much as he could of this magic. He began to spend almost all his free time, reading about the magical art. He finally decided he would quit his work as a thief after a thievery went wrong, leading to his twin brother being murdered for guards thought his brother was Beiren. He changed his entire attire, continuing to read up on the art.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
