You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
you start to sit down and explain your backstory to the old woman. "I was born in a small village and had a few friends growing up, I lived with my mother and father and little brother. Around I was 14 years old, my father had started his own bakery where I would always help him out with anything and it was rather fun to do rather than staying home to watch my little brother. As for my mother, she sadly passed away when I turned 14 and I was left to watch over my brother while my father worked at his bakery trying to provide enough food for us. Then, when I just turned 18 my little brother passed away from illness and my father and I were the only ones left and soon enough my father offered me to work at his bakery in his spot. I miss those times a lot." Cassidy said as she wiped away a few tears forming in her eyes and then smiled at the old woman and began to drink some tea that she brought with her.
