    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using your own irl knowledge to apply it to your characters knowledge base. As if your character randomly had clairvoyance about certain events, spells, etc.

"WELCOME" she yells at the top of her lungs.

The gentleman stands perplexed, unsure why this small wood elf just screamed the word "welcome" at him.

Kiju regains her grip on communication and responds, "I seek.... I want.... hmm. Give me a moment." She begins to scratch her head and makes unusual grumbling noises, takes out a small booklet containing responses that she may or may not be questioned about, and flips through the pages before landing on one that has scribbled nonsense on it.

"Oh! ADVENTURE. Do you perhaps know where I can find a sword?"

   The man's expression changed to worried as the wood elf stands before him, wide-eyed, immediately asking for a sword from a stranger whom she's never met before. "Or perhaps..." - her stomach growls- "Something to eat?"
