You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
*Ezryn takes a seat on the offered cushion, smiling pleasantly.* "Oh, I am nothing more than a traveling merchant. I was hoping to find some stalls to sell at in this humble town, and I would be more than grateful if you could point me to them." *He gazes at the hag curiously.* "What I can tell you is that I am from Celia'nor, so I am a stranger in these lands. I am ambitious, you see, and I have set out from my parents to work alongside my cousin, Ronan Acaln’sae (ImKenobi’s character), who just so happens to be a member of the Royal Council, I might add! Though I would be remiss if not to mention our status as nobility is… rather recent. That is partially another reason why I have endeavored to work with my cousin, as my parents and I were never truly… wealthy.” *Getting off track, Ezryn shakes his head.* “Ahem, the point being, I intend to make camp here and set up shop. I do hope you will come and see my wares!”

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I will remain within the abilities of my characters and I will NOT attempt to decide what other players do in the moment or empower my own characters in a way that does not make sense mechanically or lorewise. In other words, I will attempt to do things rather than do things.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming takes away from the flow of the game by ruining the opportunity for characters to find out by themselves what is happening and as a result provides them with unearned information and skills. It is never enjoyable to have something said out of character taken into in character context for the sake of advantage or exploiting someone else's secrets.
