Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example: Malachi's eyes widen as he gestures at himself. "Me..?" The old hag nodded, and Malachi sighed. The rumors were true after all; she knew everything, and he was not an exception to that. Malachi tried his luck by lying. "I'm just a newcomer. I saw this tent and thought about saying for the ***-." The lady interrupted. "No. Try again." Malachi squinted his eyes, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. He continued, "You know of my crimes.." The lady in rags grinned, black teeth and all. Malachi grimaced as he finished, "The town's guards are after me for killing my father." She nodded. "Why did you do it?." A nary cackle filled the tent, matching the imaginary crackling of the candles. Malachi scoffed, "I found out the real truth. I know where he is hiding my brother". The lady turned away, turning to a nearby table and grinding up some herbs. "It took you that long to figure it out?" Well, that wasn't the response he was hoping for. Malachi debated, "It's not like you would've figured it out faster in my shoes" She didn't respond. An animated irritation mark appeared on Malachi's forehead, he strutted behind the lady, grabbing her shoulder. "Are you even listening?" The lady responded, "You'll find your brother at the end of the path, past the nearby human kingdom."  Malachi sighed, releasing his grasp from the lady. He dropped his cowl from his hair, rushing his hand through his curls in frustration. "Thank you.." The old lady replied "Take this, you'll need it." The old lady pulled out a map, handing it to Malachi.

"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until a small mumble of a thank you escapes Malachi's mouth. He pulled out his sword from its holder then made his way outside the tent. A group of guards gathered the entrance. "You are under arrest for the murder of Lee." Malachi sighed, raising his sword. "You know what he did?! My brother.. He didn't deserve that." The guards were not open for conversation; they charged at Malachi, and he knew what must be done.
