    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using ooc information to gain the advantage in a fight, like if you get told something only the person you're fighting should know and you use it against them (Unless you are told this information by another character)
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Basically making it so you can't lose a fight, or to make your character like the ultimate person in the RP, at the expense of the RP and other people in the RP.

I added detail to the powergaming and metagaming, but I don't know of any deserts in the lore
