Vale was born to a small merchant family that had travelled around posing as humans. His family, had clipped their ears and worn hoods to travel around and not bring attention to themselves. He had remembered his early life being simple but yet interesting. His family had did the same old routine of buying and selling goods, but what Vale had gotten interested in was watching and listening to the people around. He had learned or rather become interested in observing people and things from traveling around. And he would learn a lot more, such as using a bow or a bowie knife, or just learning how to count, read and write from his parents. However this would end when Vale would hit the age of ten, as his parents would soon abandon him when orcs attacked.
Vale would remember his parents running when the shouts had started. He had chased after them, hearing and seeing orcs close up near him. He had kept on sprinting, trying to run away from the orcs. Managing to evade the orcs until he had caught up to his parents. Where they would turn and then stab him, mouthing "sorry". Leaving him to crumple to the ground and later be caught by the orcs and sent to slavery.
It would be being in slavery for five years under orcs, where he lose his voice. He would become mute after repeated injuries. He would then escape, and manage to join a mercenary group. Leaving him to fight off orcs, and being in several wars such as Oren Sutica War. Then after many years of being a mercenary, he would end up back to where he had been abandoned by his parents. Finding the bowie knife that his parents had stabbed him with. Leaving him to decide to go to the Kingdom of Haense to live "a new life", changing his name to Vale as a "farewell" to his past life. He would search for job that would utilize his skills in combat within the kingdom. Meeting Dietrich Theonus on the way.
Vale pauses and stares at the man's face. He then points to his throat and mouths, "Can't speak. Name is Vale. Who knows what I want?" and then continues walking.
