Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"if... that is what you wish" tentatively lowering himself unto the cushion. "I was born in far distant lands" he pauses and procures a small wooden pipe from one of the many folds of cloth he wears "if I may" lighting it and inhaling a few puffs before continuing. "when I was just a boy, an plague ravaged through my village..." taking another puff from his pipe he paused before continuing the story, "it ate at the flesh of most I knew, including myself... if it were not for a wonderer with some inkling of medical knowledge; they saved me from joining the fate of my village". after a long silence he continued "they saved me, but only partially" he gestured to himself "with none of my family to take care of me, I joined the one who saved me in their journeys".
