Nicolai originated from Haense.
He grew up from the care of his father, lacking one of a mothers. She passes shortly after his birth. During his childhood he seemed small for his age, not tall enough, not enough muscle on his bones and so forth.. But that did not stop Nicolai from doing what he wanted! He continued to help his father out with physical labour to always have food on their plate at the end of the day.
As Nicolai got older, he felt that he lacked meaning, or even a purpose in his life. He didn’t want to settle down and have kids, like his father wished for him. He wanted to experience what the world had in store for him and explore. He wanted to see what knowledge and wisdom that was hidden in plain sight, in every corner of the world, and take that with him for when the time came to settle down by his own terms. And so the days went by, until finally his 19th birthday came creeping around the corner, and he had the courage to leave his father and wander out into the world and get the most out of what life has to offer.
