    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Avoiding powergaming is a two way street. It's important that everyone involved in a situation is there for quality RP and plays and conducts their characters with proper realism. Obviously in a fantasy setting it's a bit different, but it's important you're up to date on the lore of races, factions, and other important aspects in the world. But to also put it bluntly, just be realistic and play fairly. Playing on a roleplay server with a play-to-win goal will get you nowhere.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming takes out the fun and surprise of roleplay. It also can give players an unfair advantage that can discourage and demotivate other people looking to enjoy themselves on a server.

Physical Description: Bolog is a simple man, standing at 6'2". He has a lean body with medium-length brown hair. He's often in a more formal attire, like robes and tunics.
Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

This is from the third-person POV.

 

Bolog's eyes drift around the tent's humid interior, before pivoting back towards the elderly woman. "I can't say I recognize you." Despite the confused remark, Bolog pops down onto the sewn cushion. "In all honesty, I don't have much of a story worth sharing, I'm just looking for work." His expression turns bleak, flattening his lips as he awaits a response.
