Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"My story?..." He looks up at the ceiling and back at the woman, he starts to say "growing up I was always a big chess player. It was my job, I used to play for my national team and I was praised for my game. I was told I was going to be famous one day. I kept up the work and continued to learn. All I knew was chess, how the pieces moved and all of the possibilities in the game. But then..." He takes a long pause and asks the bar tender for a drink and continues... "twenty years ago my country suffered a depression and collapsed. All i worked for since I was a child was just a dream now. I lost it all and thats how I ended up as a inn keeper, I do odd jobs once in a while. I play chess with myself but I dont Like to talk about it to others."
