In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: By not forcing outcomes in actions done, and giving all parties a chance to collectively decide where something goes and keep the story engaging and fun for everyone.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Because its unrealistic and is unfair to others who may know the same information but know better, and don't act on it. It gives you an unfair advantage over everyone else in the world.

Character Name: Aldric
Character Race: Human
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 26
Physical Description: 6'4 220 lbs, darkskinned and muscular, brown eyes, Black robe
Roleplay Scenario:

"I grew up in a place much like this, a forgotten town where the air was thick with the scent of rot and despair. My father was a blacksmith, my mother a healer, both struggling to make ends meet in a world that never seemed to care. I was always the largest of my peers, the strongest, even as a boy. My body grew into something more than I expected—six feet, four inches tall, two hundred and twenty pounds of muscle—but it wasn’t just strength that set me apart. It was the burden of responsibility that came with it."

He sits down now, the cushion barely sinking under his weight, his eyes reflecting the firelight from the candles as he speaks.

"I learned early that being strong didn’t mean being invincible. The day my village was raided, I stood at the front. It was my body that protected the others—my fists that held the line, and my mind that kept them focused. After the raid, when everyone else ran for safety, it was me who found the survivors and led them to the nearby mountains. I didn’t speak of it, but the others followed. They didn’t have to ask me for direction. They trusted me to take them to safety because that’s what I’d always done—protected, guided, and stood at the forefront of danger, not out of some desire for leadership, but because it’s what needed to be done."

He pauses, his eyes darkening as memories resurface.

"But the mountain was no sanctuary. It was there I learned what true strength was. It wasn’t in my muscles or the fear in my enemies’ eyes. It was in making decisions that weighed heavier than any sword. It was in the silence of night, when the people looked to me not just for protection, but for hope. I didn’t want to lead. I still don’t. But I had to. That’s the thing about strength—it’s not about being the biggest or the fastest. It’s about being the one who will carry the burden, no matter how heavy. And that’s how I became who I am."

He looks up, his expression unwavering but softened by a quiet reflection.

"So, I didn’t come here for answers or guidance. I came because the path I walk is mine to tread. But if you know something about my journey, I’d listen."

He sits back, into the cushions, his eyes now focused, waiting for her response.
