You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example:
Nale looked carefully at the old lady. He sat down heavily into the chair which was surprisingly comfortable for what was surrounding him. Then he answered the hag’s question: “I am Nale, an Illatian traveler, and adventurer. My wandering has led me to many strange places, but this town, with its strange aura might be one of the strangest, I sensed an unexplained pull that guided me here, as if the whispers of the swamp itself were calling me.” After saying this he leans back in his chair and it breaks “ah Marrona mia! I am so very sorry about your chair. But anyways, please tell me why you’ve been expecting me. I am ready to be of service.” the hag laughs lightly at the broken chair and then begins to speak "I knew your parents when they were young. They were good people, and they wanted me to help you if you ever needed it. They were working on a great project little Nale, let me tell you more." Nale steps closer to the old lady: "I want nothing to do with my parent's work. They cared more about it than me. Now I want to make my own way in the world"
