    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using knowledge that you have OOC, that your character does not know, to your advantage. For example, taking something you and an rp partner discussed would happen OOC and using that knowledge to influence what you do in character. Your character would have no way of knowing that information, since it was discussed ooc before whatever happened.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Performing actions or deeds your character could not realistically accomplish. Performing god-like actions also is powergaming, as it is unrealistic and creates a very unfair, imbalanced roleplay for everyone else, like most powergaming situations.

The name's Vulcanos, I'm a smith by trade, so I seek the heat of a forge, naturally!" Vulcanos reaches his right hand towards his right hip where a large cross-peen hammer rests, and picks it up by its ornately carved wooden handle. "I happen to only have my hammer and tongs on me, for the time being..." He continues. "You happen to know where a simple man like me would find work as a smith?" Vulcanos smiles brightly and reaches out his left hand, which is covered in a thick leather glove, for a handshake.
