    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I'd avoid powergaming by not controlling others, sticking to my character’s (realistic) limits, and prioritizing the story over “winning.”
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: By using outt of character knowledge, which makes actions unrealistic and gives some players an unfair edge. a guy 'randomly' knowing something because he was told out of character, completely destroys the diifference in roleplay information and out of character information. There's a clear divide.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

I carefully lower myself onto the cushion, keeping my gaze locked on the creatuure's eyes. “I’ve come searching for answers." he stated, adjusting his posture. "There’s something strange beneath this swamp, something that doesn’t belong" he paused briefly, licking his lips "it’s unnatural." he looked straight at her eyes, awaiting a response as he slowly pushed his hand towards the pommel of his blade, resting it there.
