Helaura's life starts on North East Isle of Atlas. With her mother, Faira Ohme, and her father, Oman Slithers. From the outside, her parents looked like the pinnacle of perfection in a relationship. Her father, a wealthier traveling salesman, and her mother a small farmer. But what no one would ever know was what happened behind their closed farm home doors. Inside the house, Faira was treated with disrespect and was to always have the house perfect for her husband. For she was punished with almost no food and physical punishments if he deemed her work not adequate. To Oman, she was a feeble woman not deserving of respect. But contrary to what Oman thought, Faira was strong and refused to ever feel bad for herself. During the days when her gardens didn't need much tending and her husband was traveling, she started collecting a small bag of the basics, enough for a few weeks for her and Helaura. She had heard of the Kingdom of Renatus from her mother and father who had lived there as kids. When they had died it hit Faira hard. So when she had found out she was pregnant she knew what she had to do. Under the cover of darkness, she left with Helaura for the sea. A few times she had secretly gone to the harbor. Her older and only brother was a harbor master and when he heard of what she was going through he secured her a boat. The journey was hard and the sea was grueling. When she finally reached land she stayed with different family members who lived all over Atlas, but she never stayed for more than a night. She knew she wanted her daughter to grow up in Renatus. When she got there she and her daughter were welcomed and she worked as hard as she could to provide a house for her daughter. Sadly It was too much after 15 years of Raising Helaura, at 74 she died in her sleep leaving her alone. Helaura always had a fiery personality but when her mother died it took everything out of her. She fell into a deep depression and was taken out of her house and sent to an orphanage. For a while, she didn't have the courage to do anything. Then she started going to the church. Here she learned of the ArchAengul Ariel who helped the dead find their way out of purgatory. Knowing her mother might be in a happy place helped her and she started working for citizens in selling their farmed goods. Helaura is now 19 and wishes to get enough money to get back in a house of her own where she can work on a farm like her mother with sheep and make dyes to sell.
