    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is using information that your character has no relevant knowledge of. For instance, if someone was in trouble in the game, they can't contact you to come help.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is basically overpowering your character & having them do something they shouldn't be able to do. It also means that you shouldn't be forcing anything on another character. For instance, I can't run up and stab someone, that would not give the

Bela was born in the Kingdom of Haense. Her mother died when she was 6 to a strange illness, and the lose drove her father to drink. She often had to fend for herself, and learned about foraging in books that her mother left her. She did not have a permanent home, her father never paid rent so she would go into the forest for days at a time and live off the land. When Bela was 15, her father was accused of killing a barkeep in Haense and he was exiled for his crimes from the KIngdom. Bela chose to stay, knowing her life would be better without him. She had become a servant for a well off family. They gave her a roof, and sustainance, more than her father had ever done. When Bela was 16 she started secretly practicing archery. She knew that she wanted to travel one day, and had to be prepared to protect herself. Bela decided she wanted to finally leave the Kingdom of Haense. On her 19th birthday she took to the Kings Road and traveled to Adria in hopes of starting a new life.

Physical Description: Bela has long fawn brown hair, and bright green eyes. She's 5' 4'' tall, and 110 lbs. She wears a navy jacket and carries a quiver on her back.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

It cut off my powergaming example. I’ll finish it here I guess. ?

For instance, I can’t run up to someone and stab them, that would not allow them to respond. I could say that i was walking at them with a knife, and then give them the time to respond so that I’m not taking control away from them.
