    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I avoid powergaming by not playing a meta build and instead focus on serious roleplay. I created this character with flaws such as his peasantry life-style rather than making him a lord from a faraway land coming to conquer or something similar. This will help keep the roleplay serious on everyone's parts as I attempt to rise to a higher and more respected status within the respective town I chose to settle in.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay because it replaces character-driven choices with player knowledge. Knowing a weakness about someone / something you have just encountered would break imersion and would make the story feel less meaningful for everyone involved.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Yes, hello... I come from a land beyond here, looking for job opportunities, for you see I come from a impoverished family after our village lord was stripped of his titles and our village ransacked by barbarians from the north. Please, take pity upon me as I seek only work and nothing more, I'd do any job that you have"
