    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is acquiring information out of character, or without your character having the realistic ability to acquire aforementioned information.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is either performing unrealistic feats relative to your character, forcing an action upon another player, or starting with unrealistic abilities, IE, starting with a full knowledge on hidden arts/magic.

As I walk off the barge who had brought me to this new land, I gaze upon the the markets, quite a sight, compared to the small corner of Aegrothond I grew up in. I am broken from my trance of amazement with a disruptive man barging in upon my thoughts. "Welcome!" He said, proceeding to ask me about my reasoning for coming to this city. I thought for a second, before replying: "Purchasing wares, I suppose", while not exactly a lie, I was clearly here for other reasons as well, though the man decided not to push it. Seeing as he was not continuing the conversation, I walk off, "No reason to stay around if he isn't going to do anything" I thought.
