Ecwara

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"My story?” Ecwara began, 
“There isn’t much to tell.” he stated plainly.
“But I need information, so I will do my best to entertain. I lived with my father in woods that I still don't know the name off, until bandits decided to kill him.”

His tone soured with bitterness “My father did not die in vain, he fought long enough to give me time to flee. Thanks to him, the bandits never caught up to me".
With a hint of nostalgia in his voice, he continued, “But I was lost. Once I got outside of the woods, I roamed a human city as a vagabond. By the mercy of the gods, a human baron took pity on me. He took me under his wings, not for labor in the fields but to be a keeper for his private library. In exchange of food shelter and an education I decided to work for him. It was a comfortable little haven ..."

A faint smile touched his lips, but it faded as his eyes darkened. “Until those damned Orcs came. They razed his barony, stormed his estate. And once again…” His voice wavered, fingers curling into a tight fist. “I was a coward. I ran.”

A tremor passed through him as he inhaled deeply, steadying himself. His gaze dropped to his hand as he unclenched it, his touch growing gentle.

“But it wasn’t all in vain.” He traced his palm 

“While under the baron’s roof, I heard about the existence of magic in this world. Something my sole father did not speak about.”

He lifted his eyes, determination hardening his voice. “This is why, in honour of those that saved me, I will seek magic. So that I can finally stand my ground and not be a coward. And since I've heard this place offered guidance, I've come here to know more about this world, so that I can be prepared for my journey ahead”
