Greetings applicant! Welcome to The Lord of the Craft!

Before you can begin playing on our server, you need to Apply.

The following guide is designed to walk you through that process.

    Application Rules

    • You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to join LotC. There are no exceptions to this rule.
    • You must have completely read the server rules to be accepted.
    • Your application must entirely be your own original work. Plagiarism isn’t tolerated. If you plagiarize any section of your application, you will be denied.
    • You cannot create a noble or royal character, or create a character that is friends with a noble or royal, without the permission of the player whose character’s child, or friend, you will be playing.
    • You cannot create a character that:
      • Possesses or knows the details of magic.
      • Is physically flawless or is omniscient, as these are both classified as powergaming.
    • Your Character Age must be at least 18.
      • Humans, elves, and dwarves all reach physical and mental maturity at 18.
      • Culturally, humans reach maturity at the standard 18 years, while dwarves and elves reach this at 50 with the exception of snow elves at 30.
      • Halflings reach physical and mental maturity at 33.
      • Orcs reach physical mature anywhere between 12-18, and they mentally mature at 18.
    • You can create an evil character; however, you should keep in mind that villainous characters must adhere to our villainy rules, and poor-quality villainy roleplay could lead to Moderation intervention.

    Application Guidelines

    • Remember to read all notes under each text box. Some of these include requirements for your application, helpful tips, and so on.
    • Your Character Skin should match the gender, race, and physical description (as best as possible) of your character.
    • Generally, try to keep your application free of grammar mistakes and spelling errors. We aren’t looking for perfection, but a well-written application makes the reviewing process much smoother

    Final Note

    • Check often to see if a Community Team member has reviewed your application. You will receive either an Accepted, Pending, or Denied response with a comment explaining what to do next.

    • While waiting to be reviewed, feel free to log onto LotC as a [Soul]. Souls are the unwhitelisted rank that applicants have, allowing them to fly and explore, as well as chat with members of our community in the [WS] chat channel. Our players and staff are always happy to help with questions, so don't be afraid to ask! Our Community Team members have a [C] prefix in-game if you ever are looking to PM someone with a question.
    • Be sure to save your application in a separate program like Google Docs or Microsoft Word while you're working on it, just in case!

  • Your Age: 16 Rules: Yes Timezone: GMT - 7 (Mountain Time US & Canada)

Define metagaming in your own words: Using real-life knowledge in your roleplaying experience.

Maith was born into a loving and family oriented home with her mother and father in the kingdom of Haense. She was an only child and not very social but never lonely with all the love she received from her parents. She discovered her deep connection to the earth early on. Her father was hard working, kind and  considerate and her mother was the same. However, this paradise didn't last as her father went to hunt  one morning and came back that evening with a severed leg and severed hand. He had been morbidly attacked by homely trolls in a part of the woods he was unfamiliar with. The pain and trauma of the incident led to her father relieving it with copious amounts of alcohol. He became just a warm body in the house and her mother left because of this. She was left to fend for herself and her father at age 10. At age 15, her father died of liver failure and she left to find her mother. On the journey to find her long lost mother, she met a human around her age who offered her a place to sleep and eat. She fell in love with the human but was soon betrayed. The human attempted to sell Maith but she quickly found a way around the situation by killing the person she so loved. She headed off any path to avoid humans and at age 16 she found her mother but her mother didn't know who she was or that she even had a daughter. This broke Maith's heart entirely and broke her innocence. She found herself waking up in a drunken haze every morning at a shelter she made deep in the woods. She's now 18 and looking for purpose so she doesn't end up like her father.

How would you define roleplay, and have you ever roleplayed before?: I have roleplayed before and I would describe it as acting and being in the mind as a certain character that's related to the story.
Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?: I understand the rules and guidelines pretty well.
Character Name: Maith
Character Race: Wood Elf
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 18
Physical Description: dark red hair, Olive skin, she has a scar on her cheek, yellow eyes, she's slim and fit weighing 120 and height being 5'5.
Personality Traits/Quirks: She respects the environment and the world around her. She's not a fan of people yet will remain civil as long as she gets the same in return, bad at asking for help.
What is your character’s biggest fear? What caused them to develop this fear?: She has a fear of abandonment due to people in her life leaving her life.
What does your character like most about themselves? Why?: She likes how independent she is because she doesn't have to worry about relying on other people. She knows she's strong.
What does your character dislike most about themselves? Why?: Although her independence is a strong suit for her, it can also have it's disadvantages such as never asking for help. This can land her in trouble.
Roleplay Scenario:

Read the scenario below this box and type out inside of this box how your character might respond. Your response must be at least four sentences long and include at least one action and at least one piece of dialogue surrounded by quotes.

*Maith looks the gentleman up and down with an irritated scowl, "What, are you the town fool looking for validation. Sad. Anyways, I'm not a tourist looking to be entertained by the local idiot ," Maith said as she gave the poor man a nasty sarcastic look. "I'm looking for a pub. I'm weary and not in the mood for any witless antics. Besides, why do you even care." She sighed shortly and said "Well, farewell, doormat." She walked past the man with a half smile grin on her face.

Your application has been put on pending as there are changes needing to be made before you may be accepted, as follows:

Ensure that you are providing an example of Meta-gaming with your definition! You gave a great example of Power-gaming, just be sure to give a definition!

Your Character Biography is missing some lore references! Please remember to include at least two! These can be major events, wars, religion, etc. Here are some links that may help you find some!

Your Roleplay Scenario Response is too short. It must be at least four sentences long and include at least one piece of dialogue and one action.

If you do not make these changes within 24 hours, your application will be denied. When you are finished, please message me on Discord cobbler#0001 to let me know, or if you don’t have a Discord, send me a forum message, and please do ask if you have any questions.

If you still need help, make sure to check the wiki, and I highly recommend joining the
LotC  Discord as well.
