Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Willeon did as he was told, walking over to take his seat on the cushion. "Thank you for allowing me into your home." He said. Willeon always made an effort to thank people for their kindness in a rather unkind world. "It was easier with my father around," He solemnly spoke, trying to adjust his tall body on the rather small cushion. "Life - that is." He found an acceptable posture for the time being. "He passed on several months ago, worked himself to death. My mother died before I learned to walk, with her being gone my father worked in the fields day and night to provide a better life for me. Not knowing it would cost him his own.". He rested his arms around his abdomen, the realization began to form in his mind - he never spoke about this to anyone. "I never had the heart to tell him I didn't wanna be a farmer." He stated, already feeling the tears crawling their way up into the back of his eyes. "My dream has and always will be to become a knight one day, a noble one. One that would defend those who couldn't defend themselves.". Those rare tears now found their home in Willeon's eyelids. Why would they come out now? They didn't appear when he buried his father, or even when he left home for that matter. Perhaps all those moments when he should've cried, had formed into this one giant mass of fervor. A mass that was now showing itself. "What does that make me, abandoning my father's wishes for my own? I hid the truth from him my whole life, and my reward was burying him with my own guilt and regret. If only I had told him what I wished to be, maybe he'd still be here.". He bit the inside of his cheek, trying his best to hold back the title wave of emotions. "I failed him." He said, his head now hanging low in the dimly lit tent. The candle light reflected a small drop of water. One that fell from Willeon's eye, onto his lap.
