On a cool evening in early autumn, a pair of twins were born to the Lin family in a rural area of Yong Ping.
"Ah, your second child is a boy... what would you like to name him?"
As the newborn with too much 火 in his being cried out into the season of blooming Osmanthus, he was named, 林桂雩 or Lin Guiyu in the hopes that their prayers for rain would quench the wildfires he was born with.
However, an endless flame can only be quenched by rain for so long, likewise can a fire withstand the looming endless downpour.

Born as the fifth child into the Lin family in Yong Ping as the younger sibling in a set of twins, he grew up with his sister cast aside from their parents’ gaze as they focused their sights onto their elder and younger siblings. Growing up a kind and responsible child, he understood that his parent’s loving gaze was not meant for him, which allowed him to raise himself as a more independent individual.
He spent most of his youth, helping out on the farms to ease the burdens off his parents and siblings and with his sister in the marketplace as she bartered easily to the street side vendors' wants and wills. Having a lot of free time on his hands, Guiyu picked up some skills over the period of his childhood, becoming a rather good cook and a decent animal handler.
On the twins’ 19th birthday, they were sat down by their parents as adults, to find their purpose in life as their other siblings did before them. Their parents held no preexisting wishes for their purpose in life, having not nurtured the Osmanthus flowers when they first sprouted in autumn.
“ 金子, shall we go and explore the world then?”
Taking a year to prepare for their journey, at the ripe age of 20, the Osmanthus twins set forth into the world, out of Yong Ping, towards Almaris.
Tilting his gaze to the gentleman, Guiyu replied: "Ah, I'm just here to explore the city with my sister. We're combing through the bazaar at the moment, the goods stocked here are incredibly different from the street vendors back at home. However, I've seen to have lost my sister amongst the bustling atmosphere, she's about this high, wearing Osmanthus flowers in her hair and in warm-toned eastern far folk wear, have you seen her by chance?", raising his hand to roughly ear height.
