Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Aelar freezes, "Expecting me? I didn't even know I'd be here right now." After staring at the old had for a few seconds with no response, she sighs, "I guess there's no harm in chatting for a moment." They peak out of the tent for a moment, analyzing her surroundings before closing the flap and taking a seat on the cushion.
"I come from a small farming town, we took care of many animals and grew a handful of different crops and sold them to larger towns nearby. It was a peaceful life. But a neighboring town that was much larger than our town wanted to buy out our farms. We refused, so they fought us. We lost. I'm one of the few who survived, and I'm still looking for a place to call home."
Aelar takes a deep breath and rubs her arm to calm themselves down, "I don't suppose you know of a place I could stay?" After no response again, she laughs nervously, "Sorry, I should probably get going, I need to find shelter before nightfall. Thanks for the chat!"
Aelar quickly walks through the tent flap again, not daring to look back at the oddly quiet hag.
