Abandoned as a teenager in the southern islands of Arcas, he has become a man of nature and cunning. He had been beaten and abandoned by his parents for disobeying an elder at a ritual, and has been a firm atheist ever since, just to defy them. He knows, however, that it was his misfortune and suffering that raised him, the cold of the forest floor that nurtured him, and the hounds he fought against that trained him, to be the man he is today. He has settled now in the mainland, to find his fortune. It was in the massacre of Runswick, and later the split of Hanseti-Ruska from the Holy Orenian empire that he first witnessed the great division and biterness in the land, and strives to one day to create a utopia of like-minded people, a haven amongst the division and strife that riddles Arcas. Since as long as he remembers, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every bite of food, every drop of water, and believes the harsh way of life he has once lived, will have taught him the determination he will need to one emerge as a king among Kings of Arcas. Some admire his courage and vigour, though those who look closely will see the fire in his eyes, and know that he will do anything, politics or less savoury means, to make his dream a reality. His new land will one day be a place of learning and culture, a haven for poets and artists, wisemen and builders alike. His past was indeed dark, but now he looks to build a brighter future. The path to that future, however, is far from decided.
