Rulf an Heartlander was born in a small fishing community, far away there he grew up with his little brother and mother. Since Rulf was the oldest man in the family he had to help his mother a lot around the house, which left Rulf with little to no free time in his childhood. The lack of a pleasent childhood had a negative impact on Rulf as he sometimes acted childish, often enjoying childish activites to compensate of his lack of childhood.
One of the things Rulf had to help his mother with was fishing, he was never good at it but he greatly enjoyed it. He was never really skilled at anything, even though this he still dreamed of being a man of great wisdom.
Rulf’s father a fisher, part time alchemist was killed by a pack of Wood Elfs while he was on his way back to the village from his favorite fishing place. This resulted in Rulf’s anger towards all subraces of elfs from Wood Elfs to Dark Elfs. And because of this he also despises the Dominion of Malin, as he sees as an illegitimate kingdom.
The fishing community Rulf came from did not last long and was unfortunately devasted by the war. People moved to bigger cities to find a better life there, a few fled out in the wasteland while others became enlisted into the army. Rulfs mother passed away from a terrible fever a few years before everyone left the community, then Rulfs brother got to stay with him, but when Rulf left his brother was old enough to take care of himself.
He hugged his brother farewell and went off, out in the world. Instead of being stuck in the same place all his life he was finally going to be someone, and actually do something with his life.
He went from place to place, took on whatever job he could get his hands on, just to get enough to eat.
One day he woke up, and decided that he had to quit this lifestyle of his. Just going place to place, not commited to anything but him self, he has no future in this and he has to do something.
He packed all of his belongings and went off to the sunset.
His life’s adventure has just begun.
